Well, Jay Sean was among the most popular figures in the music industry at one point. Back in the late 2000s he was doing quite well and had produced a no. of hits. So, what really happened to him?
Jay Sean(originally known as Kamaljit Singh Jhooti) has produced great tracks like Down, Ride it, etc which have been a huge success commercially in several parts of the world. Jay Sean was born and brought up in London while his parents were Indian Sikhs. I believe his Indian origin got him a lot of attention from Indians several of whom became a fan of him. His upbringing in London probably got him a lot of followers from London and other parts of the English speaking world.
Now, Jay was in the spotlight for quite a lot of time and somehow he is atleast not as popular as he used to be which is usually the case with most artists. He still has over a million followers on youtube and he still does feature in a few songs usually collaborating with Indian artists like Guru Randhawa, Rishi Rich etc. He produced english songs like ‘Need to know’, ‘Now or Later’ etc around 3 or 4 years back. I feel his best songs are definitely Ride It and Down in my opinion at least.
As of recent, he launched his own podcast called Jay Sean’s Basement Banter where he talks about his experiences in the past. He was quite active on his podcast which was a very sensible thing to do especially during the pa*demic. It has been over a year since he has released an episode of the podcast. So, that is pretty much it for now. You can check out his youtube channel to know more of his whereabouts.
This is all for now. Leave your comments and let me know your opinions on anything if you have any.
