Papa Roach is an American rock band formed in 1993. ‘Not That Beautiful’ is a song that was released in 2012 as part of ‘The Connection’ album.
Song Review and Meaning
Note: This is just my explanation and I could be wrong. However, this is what I understand from the song.
So, the song is pretty much about being in an abusive relationship with a woman who take advantage of the guy. It could also be a sort of one sided love where the guy is head over heels in love with the woman.
The woman likes to take advantage of the guy and the guy being deep in love finds it difficult to walk away. The woman is incredibly manipulative and the guy has found some sort of solace in being humiliated by her.
While, the guy tries to get rid of her he finds it difficult to let go of her. I feel like this situation happens to a lot of people who are trapped in toxic love.
The song is one of my favorite songs by Papa Roach and I used to listen to it a lot when I was going through a similar situation.
